CS507: Computational Geometry

Instructor: Godfried Toussaint

McGill University

Project Information

The deadline for submitting the project is posted on Godfried's page. By the indicated deadline I expect to receive a link to your webpage, even if the project is not yet entirely completed.

You have to submit the completed project by the evening of December 8th.

By that date, I expect to receive a zip or tar file named after you (e.g. FristnameLastname.zip) containing all your project files.

The webpage has to explain the contents of a paper in a simple and easy-to-read manner. Do not copy-paste proofs or portions of the text in the paper. Use lots of figures and animations to explain your ideas and make it easier for the reader to understand what you are trying to say. Avoid displaying endless complicated formulas.

The java applet has to be a geometry tool for the user to experiment with the ideas explained in the webpage, and not just an example. Ideally, it should allow user interaction (let the user add/delete/move objects, .... etc.) and should have some advantage over the animations. You may have no user interaction in the applet, however in this case you have to illustrate an example in great detail. Your starting page should be called welcome.html so that a link like http://cgm.cs.mcgill.ca/~...../FirstnameLastname should open the page.

The applet must work on the machines in the cgm lab. Make sure that there are no compatibility issues and the applet is functional on most browsers.
