2004.4.20  I will not have office hours Thursday, but will be in my office 11:30-12:45 on Wednesday. You can pick up Ass. 4 from me, or from Michel during his office hour 1-2pm. Michel's tutorial notes are posted on the tutorials page.

2004.4.2 Assignment 4 is posted, due April 13, 5pm.

2004.3.22  Assignment 3 is posted, due March 26, 5pm.

2004.3.6 For the third assignment, you will need the following package that solves linear programs:

lp_solve      path: /usr/local/pkgs/lp_solve_4.0/lp_solve

This program can be used to solve linear or integer linear programs.
Usage: lp_solve < input_file

An example session is here.  lp_solve is  installed on  machines in the Trottier labs:
              labi-j.cs.mcgill.ca,         1<=i<=9 and 1<=j<=30      (Try i=4 or 6 first)..

                 March 17, 24, April 7.

2004.2.16  The midterm will be held on March 4, Thursday, in class.
                     It covers all material up to the end of the lecture on February 19.
