McGill University - School of Computer Science

Computational Geometry Seminar

Everybody is welcome.

DATE: Wednesday, January 28th, 1998
TIME: 12h00 - 13h00
PLACE: McConnell 320
TITLE: "A Probablistic Technique for the Synthetic Imagery of Lightning"
SPEAKER: Paul Kruszewski, Hutchinson Avenue Software Company.

We introduce an interactive procedural model for the visual simulation of lightning based on results from probability theory. This technique has a rich parameter set and addresses one of the key outstanding points of previous work, namely, the formalization and parameterization of the branching algorithm used to generate the lightning bolt.
